I love Trader Joe's.
It is a happy place that gives me all the happy feels.
I spent the whole day actually excited about grocery shopping! To be fair, in general, I actually don't mind grocery shopping, even at a regular grocery store. But when it comes to Trader Joe's, it's an activity I thoroughly enjoy.
It starts from the moment I walk in and am greeted with the most delightful rainbow of blooms. It is always spring inside Trader Joe's, even if spring hasn't quite sprung outside.
And then as I meander through the doors and into the produce section, I realize that no one else makes me want to eat all the vegetables like TJ's. I am guaranteed to eat more produce in a week if I shopped at TJ's than anywhere else. Everything looks so scrumptious, fresh and inviting. The adventure continues through the rest of the store as I find some of my old favorites (their salsa) and my new favorites (green goddess dip- seriously go buy it, like today). I came with a plan, and a list for the week or I would be walking out with 1,000 things I don't need like crispy mac and cheese bites- although on second thought, I might need them. TJ's is always making things I didn't know I needed, and I find something new every time I go. And there's nothing I love more than a good surprise, even from my grocery store!
Blogging about a grocery store? A bit odd perhaps. But I love Trader Joe's and I don't care who knows it!
This month I am linking up with "Two Writing Teachers" for a slice of life, daily writing challenge.
I love Trader Joe's! So many random special items! They have the best chicken salad and I love their frozen Turkey Bolognese!
ReplyDeleteAhhh yes! Your post captured the shopping experience at Trader Joes so perfectly! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI love that they have healthy things, but to be honest, my list from there is usually comprised of all the things that are not so healthy. The dunking chocolate chip cookies have made it to my cart every time I have been in the store. The closest is about an hour away, so it is a splurge!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you’ve captured the excitement of a trip there.
We don't have a Trader Joe's close to us. Lakeland is the home of Publix and they pretty much run everyone else out. We DO have a Publix Greenwise, which is very much like Trader Joe's. Always fun to shop there but also always expensive. I'm glad you had a fun time shopping!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! I Sliced about my love for TJ's last year. One of the joys of life these days. In case you don't subscribe yet, their Inside Trader Joe's podcast is addictive! Now pass me some Mandarin Orange Chicken!!!!! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/inside-trader-joes/id1375630453
ReplyDeleteLove the TJ florals! And they're so reasonable. Like Pam, I usually end up with something chocolate from my TJ expeditions. Maybe the healthy produce helps balance it out.
ReplyDeleteNo Trader Jo's in Australia, but I'm sure they're great, they certainly look it. Glad you could get lots of bargains and enjoy your time there. Makes me envious!
ReplyDeleteSounds a great store. We have avoided shopping in person during the pandemic and have had our groceries delivered. It makes for boring shopping lol
ReplyDeleteI miss Trader Joe's! We just get our groceries curbside now and don't go anywhere else, and I definitely miss the browsing you've described here. Trader Joe's has so many interesting, unique items that you never knew you "needed" until you see them! :-)
ReplyDeleteI’ve been to Trader Joe’s exactly one time... and ehh... Guess I’ll have to go with you sometime so you can show me the goods.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of TJ's too. :-)
ReplyDeleteGirl. This is the first place I go when my family visits. It’s my happy place. And I will gladly hand them my money. Pizza, yes. Yogurt, yes. Frozen mango, gladly. All the cheese. All the wine. Thank you thank you thank you. See you at Joseph’s. I’m sure my grandpa thought I had a boyfriend.
